Gitschtal Bike Path Along the Stream

Nobody has recommended it here, I'm surprised!
The bike path leads here for a very long time along the stream and offers something new at each curvature ....
If you are in the area, you should definitely go there!

The cycle path through the Gitschtal from Hermagor to Weißbriach is one of the most remarkable cycle paths I have ever ridden (as of 08/2024).
The cycle route runs almost permanently along the stream, with many small bridges over the stream. The sound of the stream accompanied me constantly. In addition, nature blooms in all colors and lets you share in its smells.
The ground is very compact on a forest path, partly over meadows and with some asphalt sections that occasionally lead through green meadows and when passing through villages. There is a small section with a steeper climb of 15-19% over a length of approx. 110 meters. Easy to manage due to the short length. There are enough water points and many benches along the route so that rest breaks can be taken in special places. In between, the mountains around the Gitschtal keep blinking out between the leaves.

Flat path with gravel along the stream. Easy to walk even after rain.
