This section of the Skyline Trail winds beneath dramatic cliff faces, where grassy slopes give way to stretches of talus and alpine pools. It’s a beautiful, open area with sweeping views and the chance to spot marmots among the rocks. A reliable water source can be found along this part of the trail, making it a convenient stop to rest and refill before continuing through the high country.
