In Schönstein is one of the oldest ironworks in Germany. Some of the old blast furnaces are still visible. The old factory chimney still exists. Unfortunately, the walls of the Gießhaus were demolished. Particularly impressive are the windows in the old farm buildings. These are cast-iron window frames with beautiful ornaments that used to be made in this factory. The windows are installed in the so-called "gardener's house" and "magazine house". Land and buildings are however privately owned.
