The old Menen locks – which operated from 1921 to 1990 – are located a little further upstream.
Here, at the new lock, work has been underway since August 2025 to construct a fish passage, which is expected to be completed in early 2027. The towpath on the right (French) bank will be inaccessible along the entire length of the construction site during the work.
