The Roche Miette Trailhead is found along Highway 16, about 35 kilometres east of Jasper, just beyond the Athabasca River bridge. A small gravel pullout serves as parking, with space for only a few vehicles and no facilities available. About 100 metres into the trail, hikers will reach a fork — keep left to stay on the Roche Miette Trail, as the right-hand path leads to Shredder’s Reef. From this point, the route climbs steadily through forest before tackling the steep alpine slopes that make Roche Miette one of Jasper’s most challenging and rewarding scrambles.
