The veneration of the cross depicted between Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Catherine of Siena has its roots in the 16th century, when the image of the saint began to attract believers to prayer.
Over time, an elegant and intimate Baroque church was built around this ancient fresco, which still today invites silence and contemplation.
It is not uncommon to see people pause for a moment of prayer, both residents of Vigevano and visitors from other towns, drawn by the intimate and evocative atmosphere of this place of worship.
