The Convent of the Trinitarians, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, is one of the town's most notable monuments. Founded in 1680, its sober Herrerian style has earned it the nickname "the little Escorial of La Mancha." Its semicircular doorway, Baroque bell gable, and cloister, also with semicircular arches, are notable. Inside, the Latin-cross church preserves Baroque plasterwork and a valuable 17th-century art collection. After the Civil War, the convent remains a place of contemplation and cultural heritage in El Toboso. The church, the cloister, and a small museum are open to visitors.
