Bike Touring Highlight
Great ferry trip, always worth it. Short but very nice crossing over the Havel from Tegelort to Hakenfelde (Spandau) or the other way around. Shortens the tour, to the north the next bridge is only in Hennigsdorf, to the south you would first have to go around the entire Tegeler See to the next bridge. Therefore, the ferry is also a normal means of transport for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians here, it runs all year round (when the Havel is not icy).
On the Spandau side you get to the very beautiful Havel cycle path to Hennigsdorf or the old town of Spandau, the path is very beautiful in both directions. On the Tegelort side, you can either walk along the Tegeler See (Schwarzer Weg) to Tegel or on the banks of the Havel north to Konradshöhe and Heiligensee. The ferry can thus be built into many tours, the journey is very nice and then shortens the route.

Although it is only a short crossing, it does feel a bit like vacation when the ferry slowly glides across the water and the view of the beautiful sailboats on the banks of the Havel falls. The fare for a bike costs only one euro, for this price, there is not even a scoop of ice cream these days :)
