A town of about 3,200 inhabitants in the province of Livorno, Bibbona is located in Val di Cecina, at the foot of the Colline metallifere. Of particular natural interest and perfect for those who cycle here is the Macchia della Magona, a protected area of almost 2,000 hectares in which it is splendid to cycle off-road.

Bibbona is connected to the other nearby medieval villages (Casale Marittimo, Guardistallo, Montescudaio ...) by a pleasant hilly road which takes the name of Strada del Vino, testifying to the traditional link between the economy and the fine local wines.
The town is located at a modest altitude, but its "historic center" is perched on the highest part of the town and is not easy to reach both due to the steep slope of the streets and the stone paving, slippery especially when wet and if you have racing bike shoes.
It is the classic village with a distinctly medieval imprint (albeit with subsequent alterations) which stands out in the remains of the walls, in the materials and in the construction styles in the presence of a fortress, a municipal building and of course various churches, among which the Pieve di S. Hilary. The church (12th century) is in Romanesque style with two asymmetrical naves and a portal with a round arch surmounted by a simple rose window; it overlooks a beautiful little square paved with two-colored stones that form a stylized design.
