"Here is nothing but the house of God" (Gen 28, 12)
This is the inscription above the entrance portal of the synagogue, inaugurated in 1852, which was destroyed inside by the National Socialists on November 10, 1938.
Many Jews were then deported to Gurs. A memorial on the square in front of the former synagogue, which today serves as a memorial, learning and meeting place, reminds of this.
The way is worthwhile because of the synagogue and also because of the nicer route than the through road.
