The climb up to Poggio is worth it because of the great view. The place itself is also worth seeing. From Poggio you can get to Marina di Campo relatively quickly via the road over Monte Perone.

The route starts with one of the few cycle paths on the island, contrary to the direction of the one-way street. Then the road meanders serpentinely up the hill and is a good introduction to the even steeper little road up to Monte Perrone.
