🚉 Old Moselle Railway Station in Bernkastel-Kues – From the "Little Drinking Railway" to Culinary Delights

The Old Moselle Railway Station in Bernkastel-Kues was once the terminus of the Moselle Railway, also affectionately known as the "Little Drinking Railway." This branch line ran from Trier via Bernkastel-Kues to Bullay and was closed in 1962. The line was particularly popular with day-trippers who enjoyed the scenic ride along the Moselle and enjoyed a glass of wine along the way.

🏛️ History of the Railway Station

Opening: The Moselle Railway opened at the end of the 19th century and connected Trier with Bullay.
Closure: Passenger service was discontinued in 1962.
Use of the station building: The historic building has been preserved and now houses the "Alter Moselbahnhof" restaurant.
