The German Cement Museum is located on the outskirts of Hemmoor in the Warstade district, right next to the B73 federal road. The former chalk pit is on the other side of the street. It provided the raw material for cement production. Today it forms a small lake.

How the "gray gold" is made; from extracting the raw materials to loading the finished product.
The heart of the museum is a barge from 1925. The ship used to transport the cement from the factory's Oste-Hafen Schwarzenhütten across the Elbe to Hamburg. The holds of the former cement barge "Hemmoor 3" are now used as exhibition rooms.
Technical machines and equipment on the open-air site as well as in the forge and the locomotive shed indicate the production process.
Insights into the world of work at the beginning of the 20th century will elicit your respect for the achievements of previous generations
