The HafenCity unites the past and the modern in a unique symbiosis. A true architectural and cultural treat! Attractions such as the Miniatur Wunderland, the Elbphilharmonie and the Speicherstadt are great for sightseeing.
For centuries, the Port of Hamburg has shaped the development of the Hanseatic city. Shipyards and docks, terminals and ships from all over the world belong to Hamburg such as Elbe, Alster or the Jungfernstieg. The Sandtorkai was taken on 11 August 1866 as the most modern port of its time in operation. After more than 100 years, the new HafenCity now takes its place here. Construction began in 2003 and so far half of the buildings planned in the Master Plan have been completed. Although it has long been regarded as the "largest construction site" in Europe, new life has nevertheless taken hold in HafenCity: apart from new office and apartment buildings, one can stay in the numerous cafes and restaurants on site. Equally interesting is and remains the most famous building in HafenCity and therefore also the city, the Elbphilharmonie. In addition, guided tours are also offered.

Who in Hamburg should take the time to visit the HafenCity. A trip to Überseeboulevard is recommended. There is a lot to see and for the small or big hunger is also a good deal.
