The Hohe Lindkogel - better known as the Eisernes Tor - Many hikers prefer the climbs from the Helenental, although you have to overcome the biggest difference in altitude. The route through the narrow Kalkgraben, whose slopes are interspersed with picturesque rocks, and over the Brennersteig - has almost alpine character and is also very romantic, although you get a little sweat.

31-07-2018 the refuge and the sinawarte were closed for holidays (too bad in the summer). The weather was this time with the blueest sky and hot at the 35 °. 😊👍👍👍

29.12.2015 - Sina WarteDescription - At the summit of the High Lindkogel lies the shelter "Iron Gate" with the lookout "Sina waiting" in the municipality Alland. In 1895, Simon Georg Freiherr von Sina had this 14-meter-high stone lookout tower built, on which you can still read today: "The pleasure of the public, Freiherr von Sina" and gave it to the city of Baden with the obligation to keep it permanently for the public. 😊👍👍

Honestly? After the hiking highlights "Hoher Lindkogel", "Hohe Lindkogel / Eisernes Tor" and "Sinawarte", which all describe the same position, also the highlight "Sinawarte Aussicht"?

Although the Sina-Warte on the Hohe Lindkogel is actually in the middle of the forest, it is a surprisingly sunny place that invites you to linger.

The refuge Iron Gate has a beautiful, shady garden and very fine food. The sinawarte was unfortunately closed, so I could not enjoy the view today.

Go to the tower (the Sina waiting room) and look at the wisdom there. One thing particularly impressed me: "Do not climb too high, where the earth disappears from you, do not stay too deep, where you smoke smothered you, where high and low moderately connects, there stop and feel delighted." You will find it in the first tower section, after the main staircase.

The Hohe Lindkogel is a hiking classic. The view is "well", but the overall package is right!

Guarantee for a glimpse into the sun, when all of Vienna and its surroundings are under a thick mist soup! Already 100x experienced and always just beautiful!
