The Detmold University of Music is a music college in Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia and was founded in 1946 under the name Northwest German Music Academy Detmold. The main building is located in the New Palace at Neustadt 22. The number of students in the 2014 winter semester was 751. There are around 450 concerts a year, where they have the opportunity to put their newly acquired skills to the test.
