The Boatside Inn in Warden, near Hexham, is a historic country inn with a rich history dating back to 1782. Originally a trading station and stopping point for river crossings on the Tyne, it grew into a popular alehouse for travelers and locals alike.

the view from a roadside bench but if touring is more your style you can stop here for a delicious lunch! lunch served from 13h00 until 16h00 and night time meals served from about 18h00 until 21h00. Sunday roasts and light lunches. personally I can't ride on a full stomach so I stopped and had an orange on the roadside bench and was quickly on my way again!
After the river bridge is a short steep climb to the A69 so that orange will do just fine for energy!
