Bike Touring Highlight
In 1824, the octagonal wooden Dutch mill near Donsbrüggen was put into operation. In 1890, a steam engine was installed, which was put out of service after the Second World War. In the 1950s, the mill has been restored, since 1982 there is the Förderkreis Alte Windmühle Donsbrüggen, which takes care of the maintenance and operation of the mill.
The windmill is one of the few remaining mills in Germany, which are equipped with so-called Bilausch Ventikanten. By this one understands a construction borrowed from the aircraft construction of the wings, which gives the mill a very striking appearance.
