These flush fields are diked areas into which the silt of the river Ems is filled up to a height of two meters. Once the water settles and the silt compacts, the dikes can be rebuilt. This happens in Ihrhove on about 530 hectares - that is more than 740 football fields.

The Steenfeld sink is very interesting to look at. The paths are economic paths and run very well. First through the small village, which looks very cozy, then always through the fields. For me personally a small drawback are the many dogs that are walked here.
