Hiking

On the limestone plateau above the town of Nismes you walk across open dry grasslands and along fragrant pine trees - a very unusual landscape for the Ardennes. The porous, limestone-rich soil provides for this special vegetation: rainwater seeps faster and therefore mainly dry and warm loving plants and animals have settled here.

Hiking

It is very much in the Eifel / Ardennes, called Kalkmulden. Lampertstal, Gerolstein, Schönecken, Blankenheim, would be such addresses in the Eifel.

Running

On the limestone plateau above the town of Nismes, you pass through dry, open meadows and past fragrant pine trees - a very unusual landscape for the Ardennes. The porous soil, rich in limestone, is the origin of this particular vegetation: rainwater infiltrates more quickly and, as a result, plants and animals that love heat and drought have settled here.
