In St.Gallen you will inevitably encounter the venerable Abbey District, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. You can visit many of the buildings of the former monastery – including the Abbey Library, built in 1758. Even if you are not interested in the books and historical documents exhibited there, the library is definitely worth a visit. It is one of the most beautiful in the world.
