With rickety timber-framed buildings and colorful shop fronts, the Shambles is a quaint place to browse shops. The Shambles was mentioned as early as 1086 in the Doomsday Book and used to be known for its butchers. Although the butchers have now vanished, there are plenty of interesting shops and even wizard-themed shops. It is thought that the street may have inspired Diagon Alley from Harry Potter.
