Beautiful small and idyllic lake near Málaga. Unfortunately not completely clean and you can find a lot of garbage here. Nevertheless, a trip is worthwhile.

The Embalse del Agujero, also known as Pantano del Agujero, is a reservoir. It is located a few kilometers north of Málaga, in the Guadalmedina river basin.

The Agujero Dam was built in 1908. Currently, this dam is not in use. Pantano and Presa del Agujero were designed to prevent the continuous flooding caused by the Guadalmedina River as it passes through Malaga. After the great flood of 1907, the creation of the Hole Swamp and Dam was promoted. This left many victims and countless destructions. However, later studies showed that even after the construction of this wall, the city of Malaga was still at risk of flooding. For this reason, years later, the so-called Presa del Limonero was built two kilometers further down.

It doesn't usually have much water; it's a reservoir that feeds the river that runs through the city of Málaga, but when it has water, it's beautiful.
