Beautiful via ferrata above Arco. The trail leads through a ravine (gorge) to the castle Drena. Short ascent and wonderfully shaded.

The via ferrata is entirely inside a narrow gorge where the Salagoni river flows impetuously; therefore it is constantly in the shade.
It is a via ferrata that I would rate between 'Easy' and 'Moderately Difficult'. Technically easy (apart from two sections of a few metres overhanging) and with a short approach. The attention to be paid is in any case to the ever-present humidity and the sometimes great distance of the numerous stirrups. It is almost never climbable since a good part winds vertically on the walls of the gorge; and therefore stirrups for the feet and a cable for the hands are used. One last attention to be paid is in following the metal equipment because you can be deceived and end up in slippery sections.

The route through the gorge is what makes this via ferrata so appealing. Technically, it's fairly easy – there's a slight incline at the beginning, and the distance between the stirrups is likely to be a challenge for short legs – why this is rated B and the easier sections above are rated C remains a question. It's never really exposed or high either. Most of the time, you're at jumping height. This actually makes it an ideal tour for beginners. The topography can be found, as usual, at bergsteigen.com, although you'll hardly need it for such a short route.

If you take your time, the whole thing, including the hike back, takes an hour and a half – making it perfect as a digestion walk after pizza, if it's still reasonably light.
