The River Wharfe flows along the county boundary between West and North Yorkshire through the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The pretty river runs for 65 miles (105 km) before joining the River Ouse. Diverse wildlife such as signal crayfish and water voles live in and around the river. You can also spot more than 230 species of birds including eagle-owls, red grouse, and greater spotted woodpeckers.
