Castell Meredydd (also known as Castell Machen or Maredudds Castle) is a heavily ruined castle ruin from the early 13th century in the County Borough of Caerphilly in Wales. The site is protected as a Scheduled Monument. It has a historical peculiarity: it is the only known stone fortress in the historic region of Gwent to have been built by native Welsh princes.
