The Mulda board cutting and lumber mill is a plant that has grown over the course of approx. 130 years and has, of course, been changed in line with technical developments, and is largely preserved in its current state and still functional. The mill was built by the landowner and timber merchant Ernst Wilhelm Schönlebe in 1880 on today's property no. 100 at Hauptstrasse 91 in Mulda. At that time, the first drive was intended to be an undercut 4.00 m high water wheel, which was to be driven 2.0 m wide by an equally 2.0 m wide water flow. In fact, it can be assumed that it was a medium-sized waterwheel, as shovels of such a wheel were found to cover the mill ditch in the basement of the building. The development required additional energy. Source: sachsens-museen-enthaben.de/museum/742-brettmuehle-mulda-saegewerk-drechsel

Open on Mill Day and earlier (until about 3 years ago) you could rent rooms here for celebrations. I don't know whether that is still possible today.

It's set up like a museum.

If you are interested in what tools they worked with. The origin is also very interesting.
