The mountain pasture settlement of Schönenbach can be reached on several hiking trails. Starting points for longer hikes are Bezau, Bizau, Sibratsgfäll and Egg-Schetteregg. The valley floor can be explored on a leisurely circular hiking trail. A very scenic, not too demanding mountain bike tour leads from Sibratsgfäll to Schönenbach. It takes about two hours there and back. Schönenbach is also a destination for those who are interested in caves. Near the mountain pasture settlement is the "Schneckenlochhöhle", which is only accessible with guided tours.
Tip: In the summer months, a bus runs several times a day from Bezau and Bizau to Schönenbach. Holders of the Bregenzerwald & Großes Walsertal guest card can use the bus free of charge. The settlement can also be reached by car on the toll road from Bizau.

Schönenbach is considered to be the most beautiful mountain pasture settlement in the Bregenzerwald.
Picturesque impressions in Schönenbach
Whether in summer or winter, on foot, by mountain bike or on cross-country skis: people like to make their way to Schönenbach. The mountain pasture settlement is extremely picturesque on a wide, approximately 1,000 meter high valley floor. Mountain huts made of wood characterize the picture. Farmers and herdsmen spend the early summer and autumn here while their cows graze the alpine pastures. One also goes to Schönenbach because there are particularly good cheese dumplings here. This is eaten in a harmonious atmosphere in the Jagdgasthaus Egender.
