Moving Bismarck: 1901 first erected in Apenrade, on the occasion of the 1920 referendum in Schleswig, where Apenrade became Danish, Bismarck was kept in a barn near Rendsburg for 10 years, until it was finally erected here in 1930.

The Bismarck monument stands on the Aschberg in the Hüttener Berge nature park.
The approximately 7 m high Bismarck statue stands guard on the 97.8 m high Aschberg and
is a magnet for many hikers and tourists.
The Bismarck statue - created by Adolf Brütt - was originally located on the Danish Knivsberg near Apenrade.
Otto von Bismarck (1815 - 1898) was the founder and chancellor of the German Empire.
Before the vote on the German-Danish border issue, the statue was dismantled in 1920 and transported by rail to Rendsburg.
Clubs in North Schleswig spoke out in favor of erecting it on the Aschberg.
After many disputes and years of storage in a barn in Ascheffel, the cultural monument was erected at its current location in September 1930.
