King Gyeongae was the second son of King Sindeok (r. 912-917) and the younger brother of King Gyeongmyeong (r. 917-924). He sent troops to support the Goryeo kingdom's conquest of Later Baekje. In 927, when he was celebrating after a ritual at Poseokjeong Pavilion, the leader of Later Baekje, Gyeon Hwon, raided the party. The king was captured, and so he killed himself.

Although it has not been excavated, the tomb is presumed to be a stone chamber tomb with corridor.
