A robust, fortified residential tower was built on the Haamstede estate between the church of the village of Haamstede and the dunes in the 13th century. Haamstede Castle is a medieval castle, complete with towers, battlements and a bridge over a moat. Another bastard son of Floris de V lived there: Ned.Herv.Kerk. Rebuilt in the 16th century after a fire around 1500. Cross church without choir with an open roof turret at the crossing. In the west wall there is a gate with basket arch and large closed arch window. Nave and transom of brick with sandstone corner blocks in the bears. In the basements of the walls on the south side are moldings of tuff stone, from an earlier church. Nave covered by wooden barrel vault and side aisles by half-half barrel vaults. Nave separated from transverse building by painted bulkhead XIXa. Transverse building with high closed windows in the north and east sides, roofing as in the nave. In use as a consistory and winter church. Minister name list board. Interior: fragment of baptismal font made of red sandstone. Pulpit XVIIIc, copper lectern. Christening gate XVIId with candle holder. Men's sofa XVIIIC with alliance coat of arms. Two benches. Three copper crowns approx. 1700. Bell chair with chimes consisting of a bell by Jacob Waghevens, 1532, diam. 55 cm, a bell from an unknown foundry, diam. 78 cm, a clock by J. van den Ghein from 1532? and a modern clock.
