Built in 1708, Wentworth Castle is a grade-1 listed country house which was once home to the Earls of Strafford. The beautiful estate and gardens even features a sham folly castle. The estate, now belong to the National Trust, will re-open to the public following a funding crisis on 8 June 2019. Visitors will be able to explore the 63 acres of formal gardens and 500 acres of park land. The house is currently home to the Northern College, a charity which educated adults, and is therefore not open to the public.
