High on a ridge in Flåsjön lies Alanäs Church, offering sweeping views over the villages in Alanäs Municipality, as well as Flåsjön and the expansive forests.
The church was designed by the architect, Intendant of the Royal Building Administration,
Gustaf Hermansson, and was consecrated on July 8, 1928. The new church replaced the old chapel church, consecrated in 1808, which was demolished in 1930, but the armory and part of the tower remained standing and were formerly used as a burial chapel. Surrounding this burial chapel are the oldest parts of the Alanäs cemetery.
The church's two altarpieces were painted by Pelle Havne of Havsnäs. The larger panel depicts "Jesus and the Sinner" and the smaller "The Crucifixion."
The baptismal font in the chancel was designed by forester Arbman and made of Frostviken syenite.
