The former section of the federal motorway 4 through the Hörselberge was shut down and dismantled at the beginning of 2010. It no longer met the current safety standards and, among other things, the proximity to the nature reserve made the expansion impossible. The section should offer "car hikers" a nice view of the Wartburg.

The old motorway on Hörselsberg, today very easy to walk or cycle through, through a wonderful landscape.

I used to drive a long way there, today you can't see much of the old route of the A4, nature is reclaiming everything, bit by bit.
