The Marienburg is located on the last foothills of Zell (Moselle) near Pünderich, more precisely on a narrowing of the Moselle loop of the Zeller Hamm. The former Augustinian monastery was dissolved in 1515 and converted into a fortification. Today the monastery is a youth education center for the diocese of Trier.
