Diaconieven Pond

Located in the Oisterwijk forests: the Diaconieven.
This is the first fen that Natuurmonumenten bought in Brabant in 1913. On the Diaconieven and the other fens you can see all kinds of water birds, such as the tufted duck and little grebe. The latter has a very recognizable 'neighing' call. He owes his name to the fluffy dot on his anus.
