The Tamási Áron Theatre was among the first art institutions in Romania to open spaces for intercultural encounters and dialogue, at a time when this seemed almost impossible. In the 1970s and 1980s, it initiated and organized cultural partnerships with theaters in Romania and throughout Eastern Europe—theatrical encounters that resonated greatly at the time. Its actors are considered one of Romania's most highly valued and celebrated theater ensembles.
