A symbolic monument commemorating the crash stands along the red hiking trail, running from the PTTK mountain hut in Stare Wierchy to the PTTK mountain hut in Turbacz. It consists of fragments of the plane's wreckage – a sheet of sheet metal, a round shield with the Red Cross symbol, and a piece of the propeller are attached to an openwork cross.

On May 25, 1973, a Let L-200 Morava ambulance plane was transporting a sick child to Nowy Targ. The flight took place in difficult weather conditions, with heavy snowfall. The mother of the transported child died as a result of the crash. The pilot suffered a serious spinal injury, while the child was not seriously injured.
