The area south of Uedem is characterized by push moraines from the last ice age. Between Uedem and Kervenheim there are several crests, the highest of which is the Gochfortzberg. The Gochfortzberg is a little-known mysterious place in the district of Kleve. This mountain became famous in 1987 when a fossil skeleton was found, the whale from Kervenheim. Little is known about the legends and stories from the distant past that arise around this mountain. Archaeological finds point to the special importance of this mountain. The ravines are puzzling.
