Berchtesgaden National Park

In 1978, Berchtesgaden National Park, Germany's first and only Alpine National Park, was created as a natural sanctuary. Today, Berchtesgaden National Park fulfills numerous other functions related to nature conservation, research, recreation, and education. With its network of over 250 kilometers of hiking trails and paths, the national park is the perfect hiking destination in Bavaria. The approximately 21,000-hectare nature reserve is an untouched patch of nature untouched by humans. This has allowed a unique flora and fauna to reclaim its place in the Berchtesgaden Mountains.
