Artist Joan Baron conceived the idea of creating Poet's Pause, a fusion of sculpture, site design, and poetry. Lost in Sound, created in 2007, is one of two sculptures in Alta Lake Park that comprise Poet's Pause. The steel chimes encourage interaction, and the sounds resonate with the lake.
The installation is part of Whistler's public art collection, established in 1996.
