The Breitachklamm is a gorge created by the Breitach River in the Allgäu region. It lies at the mouth of the Kleinwalsertal valley near Tiefenbach, a district of the municipality of Oberstdorf. The lower entrance in Tiefenbach is located at 47° 24′ 9.4″ N, 10° 13′ 44″ E, and the upper entrance is near Walserschanz at 47° 23′ 12.8″ N, 10° 13′ 44.4″ E in Austria.

Along with the Höllentalklamm, it is the deepest gorge in the Bavarian Alps and the deepest rocky gorge in Central Europe. Around 300,000 visitors take the 2.5 km long hiking trail through the gorge every year.

The Breitachklamm is closed for several weeks in spring and fall. During this time, rock clearance and repair work will take place to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.
The Breitach Gorge has been designated a geotope by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (geotope number: 780R017).
When fast-flowing water carries large masses of debris with it, the river carves its way into the ground like a wedge, forming a gorge. When extremely fast-flowing water hits the rock, the most extreme form of gorge is formed – a gorge. Thus, the Breitach Gorge is a particularly deep depression of the Breitach River into the partially overhanging rock layers.
A gorge is usually found at the end of a so-called hanging valley. Hanging valleys formed during the Ice Age from side valleys of the large glacial streams. Because the main glacier cuts deeper into the terrain than the lateral glaciers, a difference in elevation remains between the main and side valleys after the ice masses retreat. Depending on the difference in elevation, a gorge can develop at this transition over the course of millennia.
