The church of Zalaszántó, or, as the older generation of the village calls it, the Holy Church, looks back on a centuries-old history. Its thick, solid walls, buttresses, and squat tower also testify to its medieval origins. However, this is not the first church in the settlement, as the aforementioned document from 1236 already mentions the church in the village dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian.
