⛵✨ The hand-operated ferry across the Norder Tief is a truly special experience for cyclists and hikers, charmingly combining muscle power with North German tradition. The ferry (a traditional, shallow-draft vessel without its own engine) is not operated by a ferryman. If you want to cross to the other side, you have to grab the large metal wheels yourself. By cranking, you pull the ferry along a steel cable across the waters of the Norder Tief.
