Magnificent gorges but with very congested roads in high season. Road of very good quality but without protection against the sun which is reflected on the limestone. The difference in height in the middle of the mountain which can be difficult. Do not miss the visit of the replica museum of the Chauvet cave classified by Unesco!

The Gorges de l'Ardèche is one of the most famous sights of the southern French region. Also known as the Grand Canyon of France, the gorge stretching for tens of kilometers runs from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc to Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche and meanders gracefully through the landscape. The valley of the gorge consists largely of impressive limestone rock formations tens of meters high.
