originally built as the Vaasa Court of Appeals (only the second appellate court in Finland after Turku) in 1776–86, then rebuilt into a church in 1862 after the court and the entire town moved to its present location following the 1852 great fire that destroyed almost the whole town, beautiful esplanade towards the church from Kauppiaankatu
