The Rinn Valley near Alfeld is a really worth seeing nature reserve. With its typical vegetation in a Jura dry valley, you almost feel like in Tuscany. The slopes are used traditionally again today as hutanger (hats = animals). On an easy path you can discover the Rinn Valley nature reserve with its dry valley, juniper heath and arable terraces. In winter, the snow-covered valley unfolds a very special magic - you should have a look.

Mountain biking

The Rinntal is a designated, 33.8-acre nature reserve. This is a typical Jurassic rock valley of the Alb plateau. In the valley bottom is a dry and only in heavy rain water-bearing brook trough. The slopes were formerly traditionally used as Hutanger and are grazed again for several years.
