The driveway runs mainly in the forest (5 km?). Fortunately, the Rohrkopfhütte is located in a clearing. Nice terrace with good views.

The view from the terrace is fascinating. You can see the two royal castles and the stunning Alpsee lake in the distance. The mountain backdrop of the Brandnerschrofen and Tegelberg also offers magnificent views.
