Buchenbachtal Nature Reserve

The Buchenbachtal nature reserve is located in the municipalities of Affalterbach (Ludwigsburg district) and Burgstetten (Rems-Murr district) in Baden-Württemberg.

The area extends south of the Murr and west and south-west of the main town of Burgstall along the Buchenbach. The state road L 1127 runs to the west and the L 1114 to the east.
Since October 10, 1989, an area of 118.4 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve for Affalterbach and Burgstetten under the identification number 1,153. It is a meadow valley that is to be protected from recreational use. The restoration of the deciduous forest character in some areas is aimed at, the riparian woods are to be secured as a habitat for rare animal and plant species.
