Castelrotto

Castelrotto is a village located within the Sciliar Natural Park, at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi. It is famous for being the birthplace of the Kastelruther Spatzen group, an icon of popular music and known worldwide since the 1990s.

Castelrotto is a really cozy place at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi. The rich gentlemen of the area once resided here, which you can still guess today when you roll through the old village center, which impresses with stately mansions. Nevertheless, the place would not be nearly as well known as it is if it weren't for the Kastelruther Spatzen: they are true stars of folk music and have been world-famous since the 1990s. That's why there is always the "Kastelruther Spatzen" festival in October, where the group also performs, of course. Apart from all that, Castelrotto is a really beautiful place with all kinds of places to stop for refreshments - so it's also perfect for just taking a little break!
